Laboratory Analysis

Central Laboratory of Chemical Analysis (CLCA) is an important branch of AGS. Our Laboratory is acredited with the standart EN ISO 17025 by the General Directorate of Acrediting

The CLCA was as established since 1947 and served as the fundamental unit for the re establishment of Albanian Geological Survey in 1952, aiming the support of research with an analytic background. The analyzing work of this Lab, based on EN ISO 1725 is supported by an experienced staff, a set of advanced equipments and from facilities according to the requested standards. In the organizing structure of AGS, the CLCA has the status of Directorate, and is organized into two Divisions, the Division for Mineral Analysis and the Division for water Analysis

Short description of services and chemical analysis performed by CLCA

Chemical analysis for minerals evidence

In Laboratory is realized all the steps of evidence processing, from the crumbling to the final product ready for chemical analyzing. Our Laboratory make possible the analyzing of microelements Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, Cr, Mn, Ni, Co, As, etc.
The most usual minerals analyzed in our Laboratory are chromites, Iron-nickel, nickel silicate, mangane, sulfide minerals, polymetals, phosphorites, boxide etc. As well as chemical analysis of carbonate rocks are performed.

Chemical analysis for water evidence
In our Laboratory can be analyzed the color, taste, smell, temperature pH, electrical conductivity; contents of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, ammonia, bicarbonates, carbonates, chlorides, sulphates, nitrates, nitrites, silica, organic matter, soluble oxygen; general hardness and mineralization, solid residue; in few worlds every physical and chemical component in water. Our equipments make possible the determination of heavy metals soluble in water as Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, Cr, Mn, Ni, Co, As, etc. The origin of evidence analyzed has diversified origin as rivers, lagoons, lakes, sea water and ground water
